Baby Steps

Elijah had such a busy weekend. Friday Grandma and Grandpa came to visit so that Mommy and Daddy could go out and celebrate their 5th anniversary. We went to see our favorite transvestite, Eddie Izzard. It was "awesome."

Speaking of awesome...

He had been taking 3 or 4 steps here and there for the past couple weeks, Sunday afternoon was the first time he actually walked across the room by himself! This video doesn't capture much; he was actually making it across his room without falling, but of course there weren't any cameras around for that.

As if walking wasn't enough for Elijah to learn this weekend, apparently in his sleep, Elijah learned a new word. Saturday morning he saw a picture on a box for a toy Grandma and Grandpa brought, and he said...

Again, this video doesn't do it justice. We've been hearing BABY all weekend. When we put him down for a nap, when he wakes up, when he's talking to his toys, when he's cranky, when he's happy, when he's eating, when he's doing anything. It's his favorite word. The other words and gibberish are still there...Hi and HAT and HOT and the others... but BABY is getting worn out around here.

He's also been busy making videos of his beautiful smile.

Mostly Elijah has just been having fun being a little boy.
