Thank God

Little Elijah went to Children's Hospital on Thursday for an MRI. We had seen his eyes "bouncing" up and down at nap times and bed times and saw an optometrist a couple weeks ago. She didn't know of any reason eyes would bounce up and down (and consulted with a neurologist who also hadn't heard of this) so they sent us for an MRI to rule out the possibility of something pressing on his optical nerves.

At the hospital he was in a great mood despite the fact he hadn't eaten for almost 6 hours by this time...

Unfortunately, when they're little, they can't sit still for an MRI, and need to be sedated. It was very hard for mommy & daddy, but all Elijah experienced was the "gas mask", which put him to sleep. Once he was out, they gave him an IV with medication that kept him asleep for the 45 minute scan. They had his little body hooked up to all kinds of machines to monitor his vital signs while they ran the MRI machine.

They brought him back into his room to let him sleep off the meds, and he was up 15 minutes later.

It took him a little while to focus and come out of it... he was high as a kite for a little bit there.

Today, it was like nothing even happened! He was normal Elijah, and we are happy to report that the docs say the scans show a healthy baby! Thank God, and thank you everyone for keeping him in your prayers and positive thoughts. They say as long as the eyes aren't still bouncing (and they haven't been), then they guess it was some kind of harmless bump in the baby development road.

Today, Grandma and Grandpa came to visit a happy & healthy Elijah. He got lots of hugs and kisses and was happy to see them both.

We went for a walk and Elijah showed Grandma and Grandpa the creek where he plans to fish one day (just kidding King Co. Dept of Fish & Wildlife...)

We came home and played and then parted ways...Elijah to a nap, and Grandma/pa back to hang out with Antonio.

Hurray, Hurray, Hurray. Antonio prayed a lot for his cousin and his prayerws were answered. He and Elijah will be illegally fishing together in no time!
